Proverbs 4:20-24

“attend to my words” in Greek = Dabar

Speaking God's Words, give speech to God's Words, Listen to God's Words.
My son, attend to my word's ; consent and submit to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
For [speaking] my words brings life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.

Dabar Mean “To Speak”

In the original Greek “words” in verse 20 is “dabar” which defined means singular speech, discourse, saying, word, as the sum of that which is spoken. In Genisis 11 reference to the language they spoke at the tower of babel; they all spoke the same dabar (speaking same words

Align Your Words with God

In Verse 24 the warning is don’t willingly speak words contrary to God’s Words about yourself or others. Make your declarations in alignment with God’s Words and receive into your life what God says. We begin with being told to speak God’s Words and end with being told to not speak contrary words to God’s Words.
